Frameless shower doors, custom closets, mirrors and glass railings — designed, fabricated and installed by Shelf, serving Beacon from Newburgh.
Shelf builds and installs custom glass and custom closets throughout Beacon. We're roughly 20 minutes from our Newburgh shop — close enough that we're a regular sight on Beacon renovations, and close enough to come back quickly if something needs adjusting.
Custom-fabricated frameless and semi-frameless enclosures, measured to your finished opening.
Melamine closet systems — walk-ins, reach-ins, pantries, mudrooms and laundry storage.
Custom-cut wall mirrors, vanity mirrors and full-wall installations.
Interior and exterior glass railing systems for stairs, landings and decks.
Custom-cut, polished glass for furniture and built-ins.
More of our Beacon work sits inside gut renovations than anywhere else we serve. The city's older brick and frame housing has been changing hands steadily, and a lot of those homes are being reworked room by room rather than lived in as-is. That means we're frequently talking to homeowners who are mid-project and coordinating with a tile setter and a plumber.
The recurring constraint is size. A good number of Beacon bathrooms are genuinely small — original footprints that were never enlarged. Frameless glass earns its cost in a room like that, because a framed enclosure with a bottom track visually chops the space, while clear glass lets the eye run to the far wall. It's one of the few cases where the more expensive option is also the more practical one.
We also get asked about glass railings here more than elsewhere, usually on decks and interior stairs where the owner doesn't want to block a view of the mountain or the river.
Call early for the estimate, then we measure once tile is complete. Tempered glass can't be trimmed after fabrication, so measuring off drawings is how enclosures end up not fitting.
Usually yes, and it's often the better choice — it keeps a small room feeling open. The real question is the door swing, which we work out on site.
